Julia (Buzinsky) Rigan of Sanitaria Springs

Julia (Buzinsky) Rigan 80 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, December 14, 2008, at the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Rigan
She is survived by her son David Rigan and his wife Karen of Clarence, NY; her brother, William Buzinsky; her sister, Helen Kozina; a sister-in-law, Ann Cook; and many nieces and nephews.
Julia, affectionately known as the “Cookie Lady” owned and operated with her husband, Rigan’s Pastry Shop in Johnson City until 1982 and later worked at the Endicott Grand Union in the bakery department.
She was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Thursday 9am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and at 9:30am at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 324 Clinton Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in the Slovak Lutheran Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton.
