Rita Ann Wood

July 23, 1938 - May 21, 2009

Rita Ann (Meade) Wood 70 went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, May 21, 2009 at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
Predeceased by parents; Robert and Mary (Muransky) Meade and a niece; Cynthia Duran.
She is survived by a sister; Barbara Duran of Endicott, a nephew; Robert (Sharon) Duran, five nieces; Michele Fargnoli, Marcia (James) Fedish, Melissa Duran, Marta (John) Kurcin, and Melitta (Corey) Staub, great nephews; Matthew, Jason, and Jarius, great nieces; Joslyn, Kayla, Julia and Carly, great great nieces; Abigale, Olivia and Chole, a great great nephew; Konner, a dear friend; Sylvia Andrejko, two aunts; Velma Gerlock and Marion Meade, several cousins and her faithful companion; Charlie Brown.
She was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Church. She was a retired employee of I.B.M. Corporation, Owego.
Rita was a very unselfish person; always putting others before herself.
The family would like thank her doctor of 27 years, Dr. “Sam” Abdelazim and his entire staff, and Dr. Yousuf and all the Wilson Memorial Hospital Cardiac Care Unit’s nurses and aides.

Funeral Information

A memorial mass will be offered on Thursday, May 28th at 9:30am SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 148 Clinton Street Binghamton where the family will receive friends from 9am until the time of the mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or to American Cancer Society.
