Mr. Arthur Louis Papastrat
October 05, 1928 - March 01, 2010
Arthur Louis Papastrat of Town of Fenton Arthur Louis Papastrat 81, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday morning, March 1, 2010, at Lourdes Hospital, after a short illness.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty years, Bessie Anna (Callas) Papastrat in 2008; his parents, Louis G. and Bessie L. Papastrat; and three brothers, George, Gus and Harry.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Louis Arthur and Karen Papastrat of Yardley, PA and Peter A. and Marcia Papastrat of Endwell; two grandchildren, Mrs. Andy (Jennifer Papastrat) Mecs and Derek Papastrat; and a great grandson, William Mecs.
Art was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Binghamton Lodge #177 F. & A.M. and Otseningo Bodies A.A.S.R. Valley of Binghamton. He was a Navy Veteran. He was a senior tool design engineer and model shop manager for Singer-Link, retiring after thirty-eight years of service. While working at Singer-Link, he co-authored a patent on method and apparatus for safely feeding a machine manually. He was co-founder of Aapco Screen Printing with his son, Peter.
He loved the outdoors…fishing, hunting, camping and golf. He was an avid NY Yankees, NY Giants fan, and enjoyed Yuengling Beer and gourmet cheeseburgers.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Jonathan Kloss and the Lourdes Hospital Team on 1 Ross for their excellent care and to special neighbors; Dave and Linda for their friendship and support over the years.
