Obituary: Mr. Michael May

Mr. Michael May

September 28, 1915 - September 06, 2009

Michael “Red” May 93 began a new day in heaven on Sunday morning, September 6, 2009.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (Lynch) May and his son-in-law, Stephen O’Connell.
He was a perfect mixture of strength, gentleness, wisdom and understanding. Loving memories have been left with his children, David, Randy, Shellee and her husband, Bobby Chalachan.
The likeable owner of the Clinton Hotel, whom once you met-you never forgot, was proudest of his family, his decorated Army service and his heritage. During his life he liked to talk about history, argue politics, bet the horses and play Lottery. He was a self-made man, generous to a fault, hardheaded and according to our mother, “Right no matter how wrong he was”.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church and its Men’s Club, a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran and a Past Commander and member of the First Ward American Legion Post #1254.
His family would like to thank Dr. Rivera and his colleagues, Dr Marhaba, Dr. Tan, and the nurses and aides on Wilson Hospital NT4 for all their endless efforts and loving care.
“The greatest gift I ever had-came from God. I call him DAD”
