Lillian Wilson of Johnson City

Lillian Wilson 79 years fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday evening, October 2, 2010 at the Elizabeth Church Manor after a short illness.
She was predeceased by her husband; William Wilson, her parents; Andrew and Katherine (Kost) Sowka, four brothers; Joseph, Walter, Stephen and Harry Sowka, a sister; Helen Homko and two nephews; John and Samuel Garwood.
She is survived by a sister; Anna Garwood, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church. She was a retired secretary with the NYS Department of Transportation.
She was an accomplished seamstress, avid reader, enjoyed classical music, traveling and loved cats.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and 10am at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 54 Baxter Street Binghamton with Rev. Ilya Gotlinsky officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Gotlinsky will conduct a prayer service Thursday 6:30pm at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Thursday 4-7pm.
