Mr. John Malenich Jr.

April 20, 1926 - December 26, 2009

John Malenich Jr. 83 fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday morning, December 26, 2009 at Lourdes Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Helene Evans Malenich, his son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Darlene Malenich all of Johnson City, a loving grandson, John R. Malenich Jr.of Boulder, CO, a sister, Irene Montague of Binghamton, two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Vanderlip and Ramona Evans of Endwell and many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church. He was a Master Plumber and owner of Malenich & Son Plumbing and Heating, Inc. for twenty years. He was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Union #112 for sixty-two years and a WWII Navy veteran. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his annual trips to Myrtle Beach.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Tuesday 10am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and 10:30am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton where a Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Monday 3pm at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Monday 3-6pm.
