Anthony “Tony” Jubinsky 94 fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday morning, October 1, 2008.
He was predeceased by his parents; Julia and Timko Jubinsky, his sister; Olga Jubinsky, brothers and sisters-in-law; Metro and Susan Jubinski, Michael Jubinsky and Peter and Catherine Jubinsky, and brothers-in-law; Peter Matwey and Andrew Sigler.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years; Mary (Strosky) Jubinsky, three devoted daughters; Rose and Daniel Gorey, Diane Bartlow and William Petriccoine, and Mary Ann and John Hrywnak, nine grandchildren and their families: Christine and Jason Falcone and their son, Nathan; Deborah and Joseph Darling and their children, Anthony, Alena and Anna; Nicole and Joseph Woosman and their daughter, Miranda; Daniel and Kimberly Gorey; Jessica Bartlow and Jonathan Bentley; David and Heather Bartlow; Rebecca and Michael Jones; Julie Hrywnak; and Joshua Hrywnak and Katelynn West. Also surviving are sisters; Ann Matwey and Mary Sigler, brother and sisters-in-law; Paul and Nancy Jubinsky, and Olga Jubinsky, several cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Tony was a communicant of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church; serving as a Past President for seventeen years, treasurer, church officer and a former cemetery director.
He was a retired employee of the GAF Corporation, Binghamton. He was a former member of The Mended Hearts, Inc., a former representative for the Russian Brotherhood Organization and an Army veteran of WWII.
He was an avid gardener and was proud of his “green thumb”.
Tony’s family and church were a big part of his life.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30am at the Dormition of the Virgin Orthodox Church, 54 Baxter Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 with the Rev. Ilya Gotlinsky officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Gotlinsky will conduct a prayer service Friday 7:30pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
