Mr. George Stanko

March 03, 1922 - November 24, 2008

George Stanko, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, November 24, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Rosko) Stanko; his daughter, Sheila Gallagher and her husband, Rod; two grandchildren, Daniel and Katie Gallagher; and his sister, Ann Yergey.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Raneta Stanko and his grandson, Brian Gallagher.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the First Ward American Legion Post #1254. He was a retired employee of the City of Binghamton D.P.W.

Funeral Information

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko on Friday 10am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9am until the time of the services at the church.
