Mary D. Swetz
June 12, 1915 - February 13, 2009
Mary D. Swetz 93 fell asleep in the Lord on Friday evening, February 13, 2009, at Willow Point Nursing Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Swetz in 1999; her parents, John and Maria Dutko; three brothers, Michael, John and Joseph Dutko and her sister Katherine (William) Foley.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, George E. and Carol Swetz of Endicott, Joseph M. and Judy Swetz of Johnson City, and John Andrew and Christy Swetz of Binghamton; three grandchildren, Michael, Adam (Krista) and Andrea Swetz; four sisters, Julie Worobey, Ann Hazelwood, Helene Flaherty, and Elizabeth Dutko; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of Bates Troy and River Mede Manor Nursing Home.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Willow Point Nursing Home on North I for their compassionate care.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street Binghamton with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Monday 3pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street Binghamton where the family will receive friends Monday 3-6pm.
