Joseph P. "Joe" Zizak of Endicott

Joseph P. Zizak 84 passed away Monday morning,  October 30, 2017 at his home with his daughter, Barbara, by his side. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army. He began his career as a cabinet maker with Franzenburg-Huttleston, Inc. and was involved in the construction and development of the homes in Crestview Heights until his retirement some forty years later. He was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church and a member of Endicott American Legion Post #82. Joe was a true sportman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Joe was predeceased by his loving wife of fity years, Gertrude; daughter, JoAnn; parents, Michael and Anna Zizak and sister, Marion Crounse. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Fontana, treasured granddaugther, Kathryn "Katie" Fontana, step-grandsons, Kenneth and Christopher Fontana. He leaves behind siblings, Ann Green, Helen Ballus and John and James Zizak  several nieces and nephews and a caring companion, Imelda Terrell.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko officiiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10am until the time of the service.
