Obituary for Mary Stelmak

Mary Stelmak 97 fell asleep in the Lord on Monday morning, November 26, 2018, at Good Shepherd Fairview Home.
She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Mike Stelmak, her brothers, George and John Stelmak, her sister, Margaret Stelmak and her nephew Michael G.Stelmak.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Maria Stelmak, her niece and spouse, Valerie and Dan Augenstern and their children Grace and Sam; her nephew, John Stelmak; and her niece, Michele Stelmak and Steve Jackson.
She served in the United States Navy during World War II. She lived most of her life in Washington D.C. where she enjoyed reading, sewing, and trying new recipes. She was a retired secretary for American Associates of University Professors and a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church.
A Divine Liturgy and funeral service will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko on Thursday 9:30am at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Cate and Mark for their compassionate care given to Mary over the past several years and more recently to and staff at Good Shepherd Fairview Home and to the staff and volunteers at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice.
