Donald W. Dailey of Windsor

Donald W. Dailey born in Mill City, PA on December 31, 1931 passed away suddenly at his home on June 24, 2017.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Gethel (Burgess) Dailey, his in-laws, Joseph and Mary Kovarik and a special grandniece, Sarah.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia (Kovarik) Dailey; his children, Kathy (Bill) Connelly, Bill Dailey (Donna Carnevale) and Jean Dailey (Georg Betzenhauser); grandchildren, Chad (Ashley) Dailey, Craig Connelly, Alicia Detrick and Kevin Connelly; three great grandchildren, Landon, Alivia and Noah; his brother, Douglas (MaryAnn) Dailey, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

After graduating from Johnson City High School, Don worked briefly for the Village of Johnson City and Wilson Hospital. Don served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a retired employee of the I.B.M. Corporation Endicott after 32 years of service and a member of the Endicott I.B.M. Quarter Century Club.

In his younger days, he loved to travel and was an avid sportsman. He took his family on many memorable camping vacations across the United States and Canada. His most favorite place was Alaska. In his retirement, Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hiking with them, riding on the tractor with them and camping with them at the family lean-to.

Funeral Information

The family will receive friends Friday 3-7pm at St. Marys Catholic Church Hall, 975 NYRoute #11 South, Kirkwood where a celebration of Dons life will take place at 5pm.
