Obituary for Mrs. Martha Fedorchak

Martha Fedorchak of Johnson City

Martha Fedorchak fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday morning, July 16, 2017, two days after her 89th birthday and eight days after the repose of her beloved husband of 64 years, Walter.

Martha was also predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and William Strosky; her brother, Phillip; brothers-in-law, Steven, Michael, John, Very Rev. Nicholas, Peter, Joseph, John, Peter, Joseph and Nicholas; and sisters-in-law, Anna, Elizabeth, Helen, Irene, Helen, Sandra and Ann.

She is survived by two sons, James Fedorchak, his wife, Lynn and their children, Mark and Nicole; Theodore Fedorchak, his wife, Kathleen and their children, Gregory, Kyle and Matthew; four sisters-in-law, Mary, Irene, Tillie, and Carol, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Jermyn, PA on July 14, 1928, Martha excelled as a student and secretary before relocating to Johnson City, NY with the love of her life, Walter, to start a family. Martha always put others before herself, especially her husband, two boys, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. She was eager to offer great food and vibrant conversation to anyone who set foot in her welcoming home and she never let people leave empty-handed or hungry. Martha appreciated lifes simple pleasures; holiday dinners, animals frolicking through her backyard, ice cream, and watching the NY Yankees with her husband.

Martha was a devout Orthodox Christian and loved attending church services and singing along with the choir.

The Fedorchak family extends their gratitude to the caring and dedicated staff at Good Shepherd Fairview Rehab Center, Wilson Hospitals Tower 3 and Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation, Nursing and Dialysis.
